Marlon Brandos Former Home On The Market (PHOTOS)

This home in the Chandler Estates of Sherman Oaks, California was once the home of the legendary enigmatic actor Marlon Brando. The private estate offers a huge detached guest house, family gazebo, sauna, tennis court and a pool and spa with a hand-crafted diving board built by Brando himself for his children. The five-bedroom home is listed at $1.65 million.

The property has been on and off the market several times in the last few years. According to an article from the L.A. Times in 2009 the current owner is Brandos former housekeeper and mother of his three youngest children. The home was built in 1939 and sits on .69 acres. Brando died in 2004 after a long career marked by two Oscar wins for acting and a string of legendary roles from Stanley Kowalski in A Street Car Named Desire to Vito Corleone in The Godfather. Like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and other legends whose names remain associated with their former residences, the Brando name contributes an added appeal to this property.

The listing is with Barry Campbell of United Realty Center
