Luxury geometric homes in America

Traditionally speaking, the shape of a house is rectangular or square. While this serves as the standard, it most certainly isnt the only option. We put together a list of homes that forego traditional and utilize shapes found across all pages of a geometry book. Take a look.

Octagon:3544 Church St, Boyne Falls, MI 49713 (above)
For Sale: $169,000
Constructed in the shape of an octagon, this eight-sided home isnt short of sharp angles, or acreage. Situated on 80 acres of Boyne Falls real estate, this 1,800-sq ft home has two levels, both of which include a kitchen, living area and bedrooms. Additional features include 2 bathrooms, an outdoor patio and wrap-around deck. Its perfect for hunting and mushroom picking and, with a 20 percent down payment and 30-year-mortgage, only costs $649 a month.

Parallelogram219 Ocean Blvd, Golden Beach, FL 33160 (above)
For Sale: $13,500,000
Can you spot the shape? Among a few others, this geometrically savvy piece of modern Golden Beach real estate is supported by a quadrilateral shape with two pairs of parallel sides, therefore forming a parallelogram. The oceanfront estate boasts almost 7,800-square feet of ultramodern living space with curved walls and ceilings, a floating staircase, glass-enclosed suspended second floor bridge, media room and gym. Also included on the park-like grounds is a two-story oceanfront guest house with an electronic roof, infinity-edge pool, and private beach.
Rectangle: 8250 Sanderling Rd, Sarasota, FL 34242 (above)
For Sale:
 $14,500,000
Another polygon and close relative to the parallelogram, the rectangle is a straightforward shape and no stranger to architecture. An award-winning beach house in Sarasota, FL, however, takes the 90 degree angles of the rectangle to a whole different level. Described as a home that turns abstract art into concrete reality, this 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom residence is separated into cubed and color-coded living spaces. With a large swimming pool, slide, oversized Jacuzzi, fire pit and volleyball court, this home functions like a private family resort and is unlike anything else on the Sarasota real estate market.
