The need for a contemporary and comfortable home pushed the young family living in this home to consider turning their hundred-year-old Northwest Portland house into a modern retreat from stressful everyday life. They approached interior designer Jessica Helgerson to create a fresh face for their residence. Working with a palette of whites and cool greys throughout the house, the designer created an open space that looks amazing as a whole, but looks even better when taken separate. Each space was carefully renovated the kitchen on the first floor was connected to the dining room with the help of two-sided glass cabinets, while the bathroom on the same floor was transformed into a beautiful powder room. The second floor was divided to fit the large master bedroom and bathroom and a storage area at the top of the stairs became the perfect place to stylishly hide a washing machine and a drier. The office was placed in the old attic and displays a bright and cheery atmosphere. Laser-cut mirrors in the entry hall accentuate and reflect the modern lifestyle of its inhabitants. The entire residence feels like a breath of fresh air, dont you think?
