By turning an old house into a glamorous residence, Jessica Helgerson Interior Design managed to create yet another amazing inspirational collection of interiors. After seeing this renovation, we decided to take a closer look at Jessicas works and found this incredible turn-of-the-century, Southeast Portland foursquare. Working on many projects, the interior designer created a unique style that can be recognized in every room. This particular house was transformed into an exemplary residence: By gutting the small, dysfunctional kitchen and annexing space from an under-utilized back pantry and mudroom, we created a large and airy cooking and dining space. Elsewhere in the house we introduced elegant touches such as box beams in the dining room; a fireplace mantel and built-in shelving in the living room; a wood ceiling and wainscoting in the upstairs bathroom; and a deep-cased opening, between the entry hall and the living room, which creates ledges for seating and plants. In addition, the dark-stained woodwork accentuates the decorative items and furnishing nearby and add a pleasant element of surprise. Isnt it just gorgeous?
