A mid-century modern home owned by former Mayor of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ray Nagin, has hit the market. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright contemporary Albert Ledner in 1962, the house is known by many as the Ashtray House, a name given because of the modernist architects use of 1,200 amber ashtrays that run along the fascia and add unique flair to the exterior. Nagin is asking for $729,000 for the four-bedroom, five-bathroom house.

The Ashtray House, the first of three Ledner-designed homes located along Park Island Drive, sits in walking distance from City Park, the home to the New Orleans Botanical Garden, Museum of Art and three 18-hole golf courses. A distinct connection with nature is evident throughout the 3,650-square-foot home, especially in the master suite, which sits among the treetops, and a spacious great room that offers a wide view of the property through two-story high windows.
