Brunette starlet Leighton Meester may play a scheming princess-to-be on �Gossip Girl� but her recent real estate doings reveal that her real-life style is a bit more modest. Earlier this month, X17 Online reported that the 25-year-old actress had picked up a four-bedroom home in Encino, California. Encino is located in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles and is also where Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo recently bought a home.
Meester is said to have purchased the home for $1,457,500. It measures 2,847 square feet and was built in 1948. The property has a pool, brick built-in barbecue and a pool cabana with a kitchenette and bathroom. The living room has a fireplace and the family room has French doors that lead to a covered outdoor space outfitted with a dining table and lounging area.
The listing pictures reflect the previous occupant�s taste, it will be interesting to see what Meester does with her new home in terms of decor. While part of the cast of �Gossip Girl� has moved to the West Coast on the show, Blair Waldorf remains an NYC girl. Is a move for the character coming or is Meester planning to make the leap from the small screen to full-time movie star.? She has already had key roles in a few films such as �Country Strong� and �The Roommate.�
