Harrison Ford and Calista Flockharts New House in L.A.

by HOOKEDONHOUSES on NOVEMBER 4, 2011
Mega movie star Harrison Ford and Brothers and Sisters actress Calista Flockhart started dating in 2002, a year after she adopted her son Liam. The very private couple tied the knot in June of 2010 while Ford was filming Cowboys and Aliens. Now Real Estalker reports that they quietly purchased a new home together in L.A.
Wanna see it?
They reportedly bought the sprawling, nearly 14,000 square-foot home for $12.65 million. Im surprised that a house with such a hefty price tag has such a prominent garage (assuming this is the front of the house).
The house was newly constructed and originally priced at over $15 million when it first went on the market in early 2010.
The house has 7 bedrooms and 9 bathroomsplenty of room for family members to visit. Ford has 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
Like it? Its a lot of white, but as a newly built house I assume it was staged to sell and is probably a lot warmer with Ford and Flockharts furnishings.
For more information about the house, visit Real Estalker. Photos found at X17 and you can see more of them there. (Thanks to Kim for the link!)

Billy Joels West Village Townhouse

by HOOKEDONHOUSES on JULY 6, 2010
Billy Joel todayOne of the first celebrity houses I featured when I started this blog was Billy Joels beach house in the Hamptons. He was a newlywed at the time, having just married 23-year old Katie Lee, and insisted in interviews that he would have fallen for her even if she were 30 years older than he was. (Really? Because its hard to imagine hed find her as attractive as an 85-year old)
But I digress. Heres a photo of the great room in their beach house that I showed you then:

He and Katie had just gone on Oprah to discuss their marriage and his trip to rehab (April 2008). On that show, Katie gave us a tour of their fab West Village townhouse in New York, decorated by Nate Berkus.

Now that the couple has split, the townhouse is on the market for $12.9 million.

Katie showed off her favorite meatloaf recipe for Oprah viewers in the dining room:

Heres how the dining room looks in the listing today:

Because cooking is Katies thing (she wrote a cookbook and hosted the first season of Top Chef on Bravo), there is a chefs kitchen that includes a 6-burner Wolf stove:

You can watch the video tour on Oprah.com. For more information, check out the listing. More photos and info on the rumors that LeBron James might be buying it on Huffington Post.

Kate Walshs 1920s Spanish Home in Los Angeles

by HOOKEDONHOUSES on OCTOBER 20, 2011
Kate Walsh, the actress who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery on the TV drama Private Practice (which I havent gotten into, but I liked her on Greys Anatomy), is selling her charming 1920s house in Los Feliz. I remembered seeing it in InStyle magazine a couple of years ago, so I set out to track the photos down and compare it to how it looks in the listing. Wanna see?
According to the article, Walsh was sharing her home with two pups (Rosie and Lucy) and a pair of cats (Pablo and Billie).
Kate told InStyle, I wanted to mix 20th-century design with French and Spanish antiquesand not have it look like a garage sale!
The gated home retains its 1920s details in the intricately tiled main hall and staircase, arched windows and passageways, and stenciled beamed ceilings, according to the listing.
The dining room has an oval inset ceiling:
Heres how the dining room looked in InStyle magazine in 09, with a glass table and different chairs:
The kitchen is a little blah for me, almost like it was tacked on without a lot of thought to the rest of the house.
I like the back staircase that comes down into the kitchen. Ive always wanted one of those!
Heres that same room as it appeared in InStyle in 09:
The house has 4 bedrooms, 6 baths, and nearly 6,000 square feet.
The master bedroom was shown in the magazine, along with the explanation that the artwork over the sofa was painted by her brother Joseph:
Master bath:
One of the four bedrooms was turned into a big walk-in closet. I hope theres more space for hanging clothes in it than this photo would suggest:
Walsh told InStyle that she loved Addisons bedroom on Private Practice so much that she hired the shows set decorator, Melissa Levander, to help her with her real house, too. Those of you who watch PP will have to tell us if you see any resemblance between these rooms and the ones on TV!
Theres also a 3-room guest house on the property, with office space and a Pilates studio.
She unsuccessfully listed the house in May of 2010 for $4.295 million and put it back on the market recently for $3.995.
Like it? You can see more at InStyle (magazine photos by Francoise Halard) and check out the listing on Trulia, offered by Juliette Hohnen of Teles Properties in Beverly Hills.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn's Tribeca House Now Just $12.5M

153franklin_9_11.jpg
Guess the whiff of scandale hasn't done much for the sales prospects of 153 Franklin Street, the now-notorious Tribeca townhouse rented by Dominique Strauss-Kahn for the duration of his house arrest earlier this year. The place, the product of a Leopoldo Rosati renovation, was previously for sale at aPriceChopped ask of $13.995 millionand it's been hanging out with the PriceChopper again. The new ask is $12.5 million, a cut of 11 percent, or $1.495 million. The home's still for rent at a cool $50,000/month. If anyone needs a house arrest home base, full gallery right over here.
